Company profile

Risk Intelligence is a dynamic world leader in risk assessment and planning, specialising in threat analysis at sea, in port and on land with a global risk alert system and 24 hr watch team.

Risk Intelligence was founded in 2001 by Hans Tino Hansen and is today a world leader in security risk management, delivering threat and risk assessments globally. Risk Intelligence is headquartered in Copenhagen with a sister office in Singapore, and has representatives in Europe and North America.

Risk Intelligence clients currently operate more than 15.7% of the global merchant fleet.

Scalability at the core

The business was designed with international scalability in mind and provides a SaaS platform (the Risk Intelligence System - MaRisk + PortRisk + LandRisk) that allows clients to monitor global security risks to enable businesses to plan and implement missions in risk areas. This digital security platform was designed and is continually developed on the basis of insights directly from customers and their needs, Risk Intelligence’s experienced security risk analysts and developers’ knowledge of intelligence and assessment needs, and emerging threats and trade patterns.

The data in the Risk Intelligence System is collected from direct local sources, on-site-analysts and from a major international intelligence network. On 1 October 2019, Risk Intelligence launched the third product within the Risk Intelligence System, LandRisk, to cover landside logistics security risks.

AI enabled global intelligence

Adding LandRisk to the existing maritime and port security modules on the Risk Intelligence System, provides security risk intelligence for the complete supply chain in one integrated system with a single point of access, and Risk Intelligence recently completed implementation of AI and machine learning across all data points, adding significant extra scale power and saving over 1300 analyst hours a year.

Licences provide strong recurring revenue

The Risk Intelligence System license agreement provides access to the System through a subscription, paid for 12 months at a time, in advance. The license agreements are priced according to number of users and modules of the System included. With a renewal rate of 96-100% (churn of 0-4%), each new license for the Risk Intelligence System improves future cash flow with an average recurring revenue value of DKK 1.2 million.
